In fact, despite being accused of changing recollections, considering you admitted you were un-familiar with the forest; as you had only in recent times been stationed at Bentwaters, the description and route you gave in your book, to me, was very accurate, and in line with Halt's site. That is why i would like to meet with Mr Burroughs, so that he can roughly show me where his and Mr Penniston's site was on the original encounter? (which i believe is the same), and the one that Halt was investigating at the time of his incident, and during which JB was present? If ever you visit the area again and i am present, one place i would like you to show me is YOUR recollection of where the staging post was (not Brenda Butler's- which to me didn't tally, and much further down route 12 (now eight).
'We continued slowly down the narrow dirt logging road' (route 12). (I have been given a description of what this logging road was like,... and the fact you went slowly, i would like to hear your own description of it.)
'After approximately one-half mile' (correct in my estimation and understanding) 'The trucks and cars entered a large clearing' This is where i assume the 'staging post' was, and of which i would like you to show me, as i'm 99.9% sure i know where you are talking of, and as said, different to Brenda Butler's.
'We were suddenly motioned to follow the captain down the footpath and into the woods....after roughly one hundred yards, we turned right and continued deeper into the forest. The pines were very dense at this point. Off to my left, i could see an area illuminated by large flashlights and a ground flare or two. I could see silhouettes of people moving around that area. I also noticed what looked like orange or red plastic surveyor's tape wrapped around some trees'...... from the description you gave, Mr Warren and knowing the forest, this is no doubt the area of 'Halt's' site, also the site he showed to Brenda Butler, which she clarified, and clearly marked on the present day 'UFO Trail.'
.....'I could see other small groups of SP's in the distance, their flashlights slashing in the dark' ... in the distance from that point would have been the farmer's field where you had your encounter. Interesting that previous to all this you mentioned 'Second Lieutenant Englund had left the parking area with a group of men almost as soon as we arrived. Lieutenant Colonel HALT may have been with him.'
