New line of enquiry ("Prison on EVAC Standby")

Hi All

It may be worth some investigation but a local prison that is to the South of RAF Woodbridge were allegedly put on EVAC standby during/around that period.
This has not been looked at very closely, but it may give us some clues.

Why were they put on EVAC standby?
Who issued the order? was it the Home Office? was it the prison service? was it the local Police? or was it the MOD? Were all of them involved?
Was it the USAF via the MOD. Was there a chain of communication.

Is there a 'Paper' trail on this that could be looked at under the freedom of information act?

Somebody amongst all these authorities will know why!

This was looked into by Georgina Bruni for here book, and questions asked in Parliament by Lord Hill Norton.

The Government says no such orders were issued. The prison logs have 'gone missing'.

I have a feeling that we are not going to get very far with official requests about the alleged EVAC.

I suspect that any evidence (if it exists) on this subject is more likely to come from staff who worked at the prison during that period. This can possibly be better achieved by forum members who live in the area or know people who used to work there.
