How about arranging a meet at/near Rendlesham?

Postby puddlepirate » Thu May 15, 2008 4:54 pm

Would anyone on this forum be interested to meet up (as a group) to discuss the RFI? Meet one weekend at that pub in Butley that someone mentioned or at the Jolly Sailor in Orford? Or even at the forest itself - muster in the carpark at the bottom of the east gate service road, maybe? Have a wander round, a bit of a chat and a few beers?

Sounds a good idea to me. I'm up for it. I only live about 20 minutes away.

Hi redsox,
as some of you guys may know, i have some really good friends near B/W and
havent been down for a few years, so yea id be up for it mabey june/ july
it would be even better to get some of the others over that have not had
the chance to do so, but thats money but maby some day an international
confrence on the base would be in order, with as many wittinesses as possible
in attendance! it would be a first for sure and is long overdue!
Does any one watch DOG BORSTAL?
to any of the american wittinesses that view the site, its a BBC show
that trys to correct bad hounds, and is filmed on Bentwaters Base.
cheers!

Gentlemen

Thank you for your positive responses - and many thanks indeed to you LW for your willingness to join in. Perhaps we can arrange something for July? Sooner if you wish. Please feel free to PM me with suggested dates or any concerns etc.

Regards

Peter (aka Puddlepirate)

Hey larry,

I worked on a tv show at Bentwaters called "space cadets" xmas 05.It was a spoof show where they took these people and tricked them into believing they were on a mission to space, pretty stupid but it seem to work.

Hi guys...

So, the meet could be a goer then?

I went up to Rendlesham today (Sunday 25th) to have a wander round. Ended up in the Butley Oyster pub at about 4pm for a few beers. They had an excellent BBQ going and I had an superb burger but when I ordered my third pint, the barmaid managed to drop it on the bar and soaked me in beer!! Such is the effect I have on barmaids...she must have been related to my ex-wife but I digress....

Incidentally, when walking back through the forest, towards the Woodbridge landing lights and the car park at the end of the East Gate service road, along the logging road in the forest, I passed a number of what appeared to be access points to something underground. They were at 125 yard intervals and led in a straight line to the end of the runway at Woodbrige. Most had a 3ft square concrete cover but the last one, the one nearest Woodbridge AFB, had a large round cover. They looked like access points to a cable chamber or similar. Anyone know anything about these?

So, when's the best date in July to meet up?

LOL! What a small world! We came so close to meeting! And perhaps we did, but obviously didn't realise who each other was. That Bar-B-Q was put on by the Butler Oyster owners, as we had done a retired greyhound walk in Rendlesham that very day, and was organised for all those who participated in the walk, and also, of course anyone else visiting the pub. Not sure if you were there when some of the greyhounds were, but i was the one with the two black bitches and brindle dog
You probably wouldn't remember from me Adam, even if you had seen me; or particularly interested there were people there with dogs in the first place :) Wish i had known though. Would have been great to have a chat, and put a face to a name.

Well, well! My partner Jackie and I were sitting at a round table opposite the fireplace. There was a younger couple at the table opposite, who had a lurcher (er, I think)....there was a chap sitting to our right, next to the door and right by the bar. Between us and that chap was a table with a family - relatives of the landlord I believe. I seem to recall the chap by the door had a couple of dogs - greyhounds I think. I'm pretty hopeless with breeds of dogs! We left about six o'clock. The only thing remarkable about me was that my shirt was soaked all down the front after the barmaid dropped the pint......(she didn't offer me a free one which I thought was a bit churlish to say the least!).

What a pity we didn't each realise who the other was. It would have been great to have had a chat over a pint.

Guys we need to get JB over to Rendlesham, for me he is a key witness here with a few others and going through the whole series of events with him with some sketches etc and putting the forums theorys in i'm sure will help a lot here.Anyone know a TV production company who might foot the bill :D .........actually there is a TV production company at Bentwaters called "bruiser" who may be up for it....
Talking about TV the series called "Britains closest encounters" starts on C5 this week, wasnt there an episode about the Rendlesham incident when this was screened before?
