de facebook : Ian Ridpath : Tim Egercic, who was on duty in the WSA at the time, has testified that no such beams came down. Halt has also made the statement you quote, namely that Col Conrad saw the beams over Woodbridge. But Conrad has specifically contradicted this. So twice Halt has been caught out fibbing. Don’t you think that they would have taken some action if unknown craft really were surveying their base?

David Clark rapporte l'interview de Charles Halt par Robert Hastings : http://drdavidclarke.blogspot.fr/p/rendlesham-files.html

My boss [Col Ted Conrad] was standing in his front yard in Woodbridge and he could see the beams of light falling down, and the people in the [Bentwaters] Weapons Storage Area and several other places on the base also reported the lights.”]

Contrast Halt’s recollections in 1991 with Conrad’s 2010 statement which continues: “Lt Col Halt’s report of more lights both on the ground and in the sky brought quite a few people out of their houses at Woodbridge to see what was there. These people included myself, my wife, Lt Col Sawyer (the Director of Personnel), his wife, and several others listening to my radio and looking for the lights Halt was describing. Despite a sparkling, clear, cloudless, fogless night with a good field of view in all directions, we saw nothing that resembled Lt Col Halt’s descriptions either in the sky or on the ground. This episode ended in the early morning hours of [28 December 1980].

False Memory ?

In any case, the second individual who answered my follow-up email, Tim Egercic, had been a Security Policemen on D Flight at Bentwaters. He told me, “The night Colonel Halt said he saw a UFO beam lights down into the Weapons Storage Area, I was on duty at the alarm monitor's building, which was located between the double fence that surrounded the WSA. I never saw or heard about a UFO at the WSA, or beams of light, or anything like that.”

I responded by telling Egercic that Col. Halt had already acknowledged, during several different interviews he had given over the years, that he had seen more than one UFO moving over the base, and at least one of them had directed beams of light down to the ground. At the same time, he had heard chatter on his radio to indicate that one or more of those beams had fallen within the WSA.

At this, Egercic responded, “Well, I had control of the net. All security transmissions were going though me. Primary Central Security Control (CSC) had passed responsibility over to me, which they would usually do for several hours early in the 2300hrs - 0700hrs shift. I had the radio right next to me, and I never heard that a UFO was at the WSA. I do remember hearing [someone at the alternate CSC in Building 679] talking with other SPs and dealing with the strange lights on a different channel. So they were over the forest, yes, but not at the Weapons Storage Area. Believe me, I would have known about that, if it had happened. My responsibility as alarm monitor and [temporary] primary CSC would have been to up-channel a 'Helping Hand'-a possible security violation of a priority resource-to the Wing Command Post had our WSA been breached. Any beams of lights from an unidentified craft onto our Hot Row might have constituted a 'Covered Wagon-a definite breach of a priority resource.”

To make his point, Egercic later sent me an email in which he said that the SP positioned in the WSA's watchtower that night was named Rick Bobo, who had once referred to the phenomenon he witnessed as “The big light show.” Egercic then mentioned that Bobo had also told the late Georgina Bruni, who wrote, You Can't Tell the People, what he had seen from his vantage point fifty feet above the ground. Upon reviewing the pertinent pages from the book, I found Bruni's interview:

  • R. Bobo: “I think I was the first to report the sighting that night. I was on the tower at Bentwaters; you get a good view from up there. There were several lights and there was this huge ship over the forest.”
  • G. Bruni: “Can you describe the object?”
  • R. Bobo: 'I'd say it looked circular but, remember, I was over at Bentwaters and this was happening over at Woodbridge. I was instructed to watch it and can tell you that it was up there for about five hours, just hovering. I would say it was quite low in the sky.“
  • G. Bruni: “Were you alone in the tower?”
  • R. Bobo: “Someone came to the tower and watched it through a scope. I don't know who he was, he was from a different department. I wasn't told anything and I didn't get to look through the scope.”
  • G. Bruni: “Could you hear the radio transmissions from your location in the Bentwaters tower?”
  • R. Bobo: “I heard some of the radio transmissions, not all of them, you understand, because there were different frequencies. I heard over the radio that London had spotted something on their radar. I heard some of the radio transmissions from some of the men who were out there. They were reporting a light going through the woods, it had bumped into a tree and they were getting radioactive readings from the area. They were discussing three impressions and stuff moving through the woods toward Woodbridge. They kept switching to different frequencies so I couldn't hear everything. I know there was a colonel with them.”

Source http://www.earthfiles.com

There was a lot of radio traffic. I didn’t speak to Col. Halt, but there was radio traffic out there that night, yes. I saw something and reported it, which was a big light. It looked really big and there was red and blue and I did see something come down from it and went down into the woods (Rendlesham Forest).

WAS THE BIG LIGHT STILL UP IN THE AIR?

Oh, yes.

SO IT’S UP IN THE AIR AND SOMETHING WENT FROM IT DOWN INTO RENDLESHAM FOREST?

Yes.

WAS THERE SOMETHING ABOUT THAT RED-BLUE LIGHT YOU REMEMBER THAT WAS HIGHLY STRANGE IN COMPARISON TO TERRESTRIAL LIGHTS?

It just sat there. That blue-red, big, object didn’t go anywhere. It just sat in one spot. I think you could have put a crosshair on it and that big light never would have moved. Never wavered! No pilot is that good.

HOW LONG WERE YOU ABLE TO SEE THAT REDDISH-BLUE LARGE LIGHT?

It was there a long time.

IF THAT WENT ON FOR AN HOUR OR TWO, THAT DEFIES TERRESTRIAL ABILITY PRETTY MUCH, DOESN’T IT?

I think so, in my opinion. I was maybe 50 feet in the air, so I could see a lot.

HOW HIGH DO YOU THINK THE RED-BLUE OBJECT WAS?

It’s hard to say. It was also out and was much higher than I was.

IN RELATIONSHIP TO RENDLESHAM FOREST, WOULD IT HAVE BEEN 300 OR 400 FEET ABOVE THE FOREST?

I would say that at least.

WHEN YOU SAW A LIGHT LEAVE THE BIG, RED-BLUE LIGHT AND GO DOWN INTO RENDLESHAM FOREST, WHAT WAS THE COLOR OF THE LIGHT THAT WENT DOWN INTO THE FOREST?

Boy, I don't know the color, but it was like a ship going down leaving a streak or something, you know?

MOVING REALLY FAST?

Oh, yeah! I mean it went pfffft! Down really fast, yeah.

DID YOU SEE MORE THAN ONE OBJECT LEAVE THE RED-BLUE OBJECT FAST AND GO DOWN INTO THE WOODS?

I think I only saw one.

WOULD THAT RED-BLUE LIGHT HAVE BEEN SOMETHING LIKE THE SIZE OF A FULL MOON TO A HUMAN MIND?

It would have been very large. A full moon – that’s really a matter of each individual’s thought about how big it is. But it was a large object!

DID YOU SAY TO ANYBODY, ‘I THINK WE HAVE AN URGENT SITUATION WITH THIS UNIDENTIFIED THAT IS LARGE AND JUST HANGING OUTSIDE OF YOUR WSA TOWER’?

Back then, I’d just say, ‘Whiskey 2 to CSC (Central Security Control) - I have an object in the sky. I can’t identify it. It’s got red and blue lights. It’s sitting stationary. It just appeared.

FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE BEING IN THE WSA TOWER AT BENTWATERS, WAS THE BIG RED-BLUE UNIDENTIFIED, WAS IT PARKED RIGHT OVER THE WEAPONS STORAGE AREA?

No. I was looking out over the WSA area. I believe CSC was already saying there were people out. We were talking back and forth, another guy and me, and he was in the actual bunker alarm system area. We were talking back and forth. And I did have some radio traffic that I could catch. I could hear them talking about things in the woods and lights in the woods and things bumping into trees. I believe John Burroughs was out there at the time. Maybe somebody mentioned his name. I know there were quite a few people out there. I think they even had Geiger counters out there.

WELL, IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS OCCURRED ON THE NIGHT THAT COL. HALT AND MONROE NEVELS WAS THERE FROM EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND LT. BRUCE ENGLUND FROM B FLIGHT AND SGT. ADRIAN BUSTINZA FROM D FLIGHT. THEY WERE ALL THERE. JOHN BURROUGHS (off-duty C Flight law enforcement)WAS THERE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE THERE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS THE NIGHT THAT YOU SAW THE BIG OBJECT?

Well, it probably was.

COL. HALT WAS IN THE FOREST WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE, HIS TAPE RECORDER, LIGHT-ALLS, PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT, RADIATION METES …

Yes, they had everything.

… AND YOU’RE IN THE BENTWATERS WSA TOWER.

Right, and I was making radio transmissions about it to the CSC.

Silent WSA Visitor - from AFOSI? - Watched Unidentified Craft with Spotting Scope

There was somebody who came up in my tower, but I don’t know who he was. I don’t know where he was from. I don’t know what organization he was with. He came up looking through a scope. I didn’t get to look in the scope. I don’t know who he was or what department he was with. I can make an assumption, but it would just be an assumption.

WHAT WOULD YOUR ASSUMPTION BE?

OSI (Office of Special Investigations, the USAF investigative agency).

THE MAN – WAS HE CIVILIAN OR AIR FORCE DRESSED?

He was military. I just don’t know what department he was from.

WHAT KIND OF SCOPE WAS HE USING TO LOOK AT THE RED AND BLUE LIGHT?

Just like a spotting scope, which would have given very good magnification.

DID HE MAKE ANY COMMENTS TO YOU?

No, we didn’t speak. Well, he didn’t speak.

YOU TRIED TO SPEAK?

I tried to speak (laughs), but he didn’t, so what do you do?!

DID YOU TRY TO EXPLAIN TO HIM THAT YOU HAD SEEN A LIGHT LEAVE THE BIG RED AND BLUE LIGHT AND GO DOWN INTO RENDLESHAM FOREST?

I’m sure I gave him every bit of information I had. No one else came up into the tower. In fact, I had to let him up because I had my gate closed. No one could come up without me allowing it.

WHEN THE MAN CAME WITH THE SPOTTING SCOPE TO LOOK AT THE BIG RED-BLUE OBJECT, HOW LONG DID HE STAY THERE?

He was there for awhile – 15 or 20 minutes maybe.

WHEN HE LEFT, HE DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING TO YOU?

No, he just left. That was it. Gone!

NO PHOTOGRAPHY?

Not unless there was something in there (spotting scope) that I didn’t see.

THE SPOTTING SCOPE MIGHT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TAKE IMAGES?

I’ve never seen one that did, but I don’t know what they have. It didn’t have a camera attached to it. You can get them that you can attach a camera. But this one did not have one apparently attached.

DID YOU SEE THE BIG RED-BLUE LIGHT ONLY ONE NIGHT?

I believe the only time I saw it was one night. But I know they had problems other times because people said so.

Sgt. Rick Bobo Was Never Debriefed

DID YOU ALL HAVE ANY FORMAL OR INFORMAL GATHERING TO DISCUSS WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT NIGHT?

No, I was never talked to about it ever!

NOT BY ANYONE?

Not by anyone.

NO ONE EVER DEBRIEFED YOU?

No, no one ever spoke to me. As a matter of fact, nobody ever contacted me after I got out of the service. Even the guys who seen it the same time I did, we never talked to each other.

DO YOU REMEMBER ANYONE EVER TELLING YOU, ‘DON’T TALK ABOUT ANY OF THIS’?

No. Nobody talked to me about it. Nobody talked to me about it at all!

AMAZING.

Yeah! (laughs) I thought it was a little odd, but when you’re in the service, you just do what you are told
