Type : AR, optical see through (OST)

Field of view : 43° horiz x 29° vert ? 52° diagonal. 
 
Resolution :  47 pixels/° they say. But probably 23 pix/° in reality. According to Spec : radiants 2,5 k (points lumineux par radian) = 43.6 pix /°. 

Resolution : 1440 x 936 ((https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/develop/advanced-concepts/rendering-overview)). If these are square pixels, makes an aspect ratio of 1.538  and matches the field of view aspect ratio .

That makes 31.58 pix/° at the center of the image and 36.58 pix/° at the edge.

  * Management of 3D masking by far away objects : Does not manage masking by objects farther than ~5 meters. (but to be tested further). 
  * Still tracking in low light ? 
    * Tested in office : can track in rather low light. But not in the complete dark.
    * some city lights around are enough for getting a stable tracking in orientation. The HL2 struggles with the stable placement of nearby holograms. North direction remains stable.
  * Still tracking in an open / un cluttered environment (no features to track except on the ground) ?  Yes, provided there are some city lights or contrasted features around.
  * Very bad color rendition. Even worse on the sides of the field of view
  * Good enough for displaying UAPs at rather far distance (>20m)

Une autre particularité du HL2 est que sa visière est un peu fumée. Il est important de connaître son coefficient d'attenuation lors de la calibration de la luminosité de son affichage.\\
Le coefficient de transmittance serait de 30% selon [[simovni2:intro#litterature|cet article]]. a.k.a. 70% d'attenuation. Moi, j'ai mesuré 40% de transmittance.

choses à faire : 
  * obtenir les infos de luminosité des quelques HMDs qui nous intéressent. 
    * estimation de la dynamique et luminosité : peut se faire par comparaison avec des étoiles et la lune, venus, jupiter  ? 
    * peut se faire aussi en partie pour les fortes luminosités avec une "boite à lumière".
  * Management of 3D masking by far away objects
  * estimation de la résolution : la spec du casque devrait suffire. 
  * Vergence-Accommodation Conflict : bien regarder dans la spec à quelle distance l'image est formée. 
  * qualité du rendu des couleurs ? en utilisant des mires de couleurs dans une boite à lumière ? avec une gamme pantone ? y a une fonction de correspondance entre RGB et les couleurs pantone ???
