30 year reunion

General discussion about the Rendlesham forest incident

Yes, i heard the interview. It's just that i'm not convinced that our John Burroughs is THE John Burroughs. THE John Burroughs has always struck me as being quite articulate, and forthcoming. However, you ask our one anything, and you are met with seemingly vague replies? However, as said, post a photo of himself that has never been published anywhere, and i will then perhaps be a bit more believing.

What about Nick Pope as a moderator.

I think while he leans toward UFO's more positive he is of high integrity and knowing him personally I think he could do a great job. IMHO

From a quasi witness point of view I thought reunion meant getting together and getting up on stage maybe and tell what you saw then everyone get around and based off what is heard and what we know we would come to a consensus.

I did not know police interrogative methods would be used. I better get the anti truth serum out then I guess huh?

Hey let me have the hard cases that won't talk. I got a few tricks I learned working as a Mercenary soldier. I bet I can get the truth out of them, though I need a bed of hot coals and a few red hot bayonets. Can any one provide that for me? .... Seriously though, lets talk about a civil setting or I personally won't waste the money on a plane ticket to sit around and listen to de-bunkers squabble with witnesses.

I thought this was a reunion for witnesses to come forward and tell what they know not be ridiculed. whats the mix any way? X amount of witnesses vs X amount of people wanting to harass us vs people who genuinely want to hear what happened and maybe have an intelligent conversation about it?

How many so called de-bunkers are being allowed in? Is this open to the public? Has anyone determined that or is is closed to people we want there by invitation only so we don't have a hall full of Mr Spock impersonators?

Any guide lines on that? I am not trying to be a dick but I don't want to be a frigin spectacle either.

John whats the scoop this a 100% open to the public affair if so think I'll pass. I think if anyone who was not in the USAF and assigned to Bentwaters/Woodbridge at the time wants to participate it should be by invitation. But that's just my personal opinion and I am sure its not a very popular one.

Problem with any interogation methods me ol' China is that if people believe they saw something none of that counts does it? Even a polygraph on every witness (which if was a spoof would be quite amusing) would say they were telling the truth if they believed they saw ET or alien vehicles.... As for base commanders etc I'm fairly sure none of them will show up.

Nick in my opinion has grown into the subject... I used to say he was like the kung fu guy who mastered the art of fighting without fighting... but in Nicks case the art of talking without saying anything. This past year or so my opinion on him has changed although he's still cautious.. obviously, he signed the OSA, but any research he has conducted since leaving the MoD he is very open about, so he could be a good choice as moderator.

As for opening it up to the general public, I'm not sure thats a good idea. People are so critical when they are sitting in an audience, waiting for something to pick out and split arse hairs about... I'm sure we've all been to enough conferences to know what I'm saying here. It would be a terrible thing to get all the witnesses together and for it to turn into a free for all slanging match... A waste of everyones time, effort and emotions but then a closed room entirely is no good either. As for debunkers.. well....Anyone who has had a vested interest in this matter from the start should be invited.. Mr Ridpath for one, not sure about Chris French... he seems to ridicule rather than prove points and everthing i've seen him on he is a sanctimonious twerp but he has also been included in certain documentaries so is well versed in the topic if not in basic etiquet. Then the event needs to be filmed for a DVD... that could keep people in check, knowing they will be shown in a dvd might stop them from behaving very badly....? Sorry i'm ever the optimisitc.

What about Brenda Butler and Jenny Randles? Dot Street died didn't she? Should they be on the list? Jenny was definitely of the it was ET camp but has now switched sides and has crawled up the fortean times sphincter group in the ufo section there.

I think we should all buy anti sarcasm helmets for the event in any case.

Interesting. You both make it sound like you had some part to play in it all? So who are you, then? Have you featured on any documentary or in any of the books on the subject? If so, don't use log in names. Just tell us who you are. No great mystery, and i'm sure it would be no shock. Many of us too would also be dubious about paying out well earned money for tickets, not knowing exactly what we were getting. If it's going to be exclusive, fine. Just remember, if it wasn't for the likes of many of us, what interest would people still have in this today, or even you for that matter, and pay attendance fees, call it what you like for those attending conferences, and such other things whether Tv documentaries etc? Don't tell us you lot have always done it all for free?

As said
Who are you?
And John, where are those photos to prove you are who you say you are?

You're obviously in the know?? Feel free to spill.

I noticed another thread you started? You're obviously friends, or acquaintances, surely? As said, feel free. Therefore, you too must have pics? And as said, please post them. In the meantime, and in the absence of what i would consider concrete proof, please don't accuse me of embarrassing myself. How patronising is that? If someone tapped on your door and announced himself as 'Jack the Ripper.' would you believe them? I don't think so. Or perhaps you would. I haven't been on here for months, so probably have missed something? And if i have, i would sincerely apologise in my ignorance. However, as said, feel free to update me with what you obviously must know?? In the meantime, i will leave it others to convince me. And that includes you too. You might have spoken to this supposed JB on the phone, email etc. But tell me. Have you actually met him face to face? And if so, and again, where are the pics to prove it? Sorry mate.

Hi Andy, I am as my name says.... I wasn't involved no but somehow I became fascinated with the subject and met a few people who were involved which made me even more interested. I don't know anyone on this forum and have never met any of them aside from Larry Warren and I have also spent some time in Suffolk with Brenda. I have corresponded with people like china racer and JB among others and have just put people in touch with others or helped in whatever way I've been able to. I have no ulterior motives and am genuinely fascinated by what might have happened there.

I'm involved in the ufo subject after an encounter and now spend my time researching and writing. Like Anrew (whom I have never met) I was a former writer for UFO Data magazine and I run a ufo forum. I'm confused by your attitude. This is an open forum where people are free to discuss whatever they wish in whichever manner they choose, if I choose to be friendly that's because thats my way. Maybe you should try it. It's attitudes such as yours that kill forums like this.

Well thanks for explaining that. As for i. Please feel free to PM me. I will then willingly give you my mobile number. Then if you want, you can meet me in person, and will find out for yourself, who i am; and i would like to think, a friendly individual, also, and equally interested in this case? I don't know about my attitude, but one thing i have never been is easily taken in. Sorry about that. Just how i am. When i get clear, concrete evidence, then i truly start to believe. When your speaking to words over the internet, any manner of individuals could claim to be whoever? I'm still none the wiser as to who you are?.... for example.

Andy

I'm not sure that posting photos or using 'real' names would help any because the photos and names could be just as misleading. After all how would you know the photo and name was that person? Besides this isn't a secure comms area, it's a free and supposedly open forum where interested parties can exchange ideas and information. Or perhaps it should become a closed forum where each member is PV'd to confirm their identity, profession, etc. before access is granted?

What on earth suddenly sparked off this controversy?

Hi Andy... thank you for your response. You wouldn't know me anyway. I wrote for ufo data, I have spoken at one of their conferences... I'm quite well known in the ufo world, I've made many friends over the past five years some of them high profile, they all know and trust me... You could probably find something if you googled my name or my forum nic Sashwah, I run www.ufomagazine.co.uk forum and I also have a very busy facebook page if you have an account.

I have to say though your attitude was adversarial in that first post. I have no idea who you are or what if anything you have to do with RFI so for now I'll pass on the meeting, no offence meant and thank you very much for the offer but we live in a strange world and the people in it can be even stranger and being a woman I have to err on the side of caution. Also my mobile phone was killed by a test tube alien of my daughters two days ago and so for the moment I can't talk to you on the phone... for the same reason as not meeting you I am averse to handing out my home phone number until I know who I am giving it to. However i am quite happy to talk to you on an open forum or in PM if you prefer. Either way, like everyone else I'm just trying to figure out what happened, ET or not...

Regards.

Sacha.

Ok ya know what? Between this pompus asshole Andy and John B fake or not, what ever.

Its reaons like this I have tried tostay low about this whole thing.

Tell me it was a light house I saw over my head again, you bunch of frigin morons.

Andy - specifically. I am Steven Robert LaPlume
I was in the 81st Security Police Squadron. I was friends with Larry warren, John Burroughs was not so much a friend but I knew him and he is the one who arrested me.

Read Georginas book and you will know who I am.

I have never taken one cent for anything I have done related to this case and never will. FYI

I have never changd my story or altered any details that I am aware of. Becasue the truth is the truth. and I am not writing a book about it ,I need not sensationalize my meager invovlement in this whole thing.

Thats who the fuck I am. Who are you? Whats your invovlement in all this. Sitting back wearng your frigin tin foil hat acting like your a somebody?

I never heard of you but then I never heard of hardly any of you UFO and MUFON guys because I don't consume my time with this crap, I have a life. Maybe you need to get one as well.

I came on here to see if I could get to the bottom of what happened to me that night I had an encounter with something.

Not to kiss anyones ass and act all kind. I don't like you people. Make no mistake my being here is self serving only at this point.

And if you all don't want me being here then cancel my account and go blindly into the future. I can go to the grave with what I got and its all well and good with me. I owe you people nothing!

Hopefully someone will tell me when and if there will be a reunion and maybe I will decide to show up.

FTW

Personally, I think a re-union of those who were there would be great but I fail to see why it needs to be a public event or even a formal event but instead an informal, round table discussion. That said why does it need to take place in Suffolk? The area bears virtually no resemblance to the way it was in Dec 1980 plus both bases have now closed so I cannot see much benefit in having a reunion at the location. Given that the majority of witnesses live in the US, why not hold it in the US? I would have thought that any bona fide researchers from the UK or elsewhere who were invited to attend and who are really interested in getting at the truth, would be happy to meet their own expenses.

And please don't ask who I am. I could make up any old tosh, e.g. I could easily claim to have been an Admiral of the Fleet or Air Vice Marshall of the Royal Air Force, perhaps a secret squirrel radar tech or a Royal Engineer on secondment to Hereford or a Marconi engineer, when in fact I am, or was, none of these but nobody would be any the wiser.

What a great post. As far as the reunion goes that could be what very well happens we all meet in the states instead! As far as who comes that will be up to the witness! If they want to pay there own way and keep it private that would be great. If some people want there way paid then who ever paid for it ie a sponsor would have some say in how it goes down. I for one plan on comming over in the next year or so no matter what and then Andy you can see in person the real John Burroughs. I have been working hard on putting this together and should be able to give a update soon. There will be a interview on Coast to Coast AM on Thur night with Col Halt the first interview that he has done since his press release you might want to listen and Steve I would like to here what you think afterwards. Hi guys, I feel I have to clear the air somewhat here.I havent been here on the forum in any debating capacity for some months now so if anybody is trying to use my nickname or assume my identity as suggested I have no knowledge of it,I just look on here very rarely to see if there is new news about the incident.
Yes I admit to some debunking in the past only because some vital questions about the incident could not be answered by the witnesses but saying this I do believe the witnesses saw something. For JB debunkers,John burroughs on this forum I can assure you is the genuine John Burroughs who was a witness to the Rendlesham forest incident.
As for the fertilser truck guy well I have no knowledge of him as you suggested John and to tell you the truth all sorts of locals in the Rendlesham area come up with crap tales about the UFO was their doing. The only consistant creditable story I have heard from Rendlesham locals over the years is that during the night many people saw on different nights a self propelled craft being escorted between two military choppers.
Good luck with finding the truth but ive had my time here and I no longer want to be involved with the forum.
