First night reconstructed with John’s statements

Just out of curiosity I collected John’s statements made on this forum over the years and put them together in order to reconstruct his view on the events of the first night. Enjoy .. (and note that John has been very consistent !)

First sighting of lights, radar contact, order to investigate

“First night went on from around 3 to about 5.”

“And there was nobody on duty at the east gate Steffens and I were on patrol in a police car when we went to check the east gate and we then saw the strange lights”

“Nothing was flying that night the runway was shut down and there was not even any maintenance people working it was Christmas night. The air traffic control tower was not manned there was only a weather person on duty had just been up in the tower area before the incident had happened i.e. that was one of my checks. The 67th area was shut down nobody on duty there had not been anybody coming through the main gate heading out to the air field all night.”

“When Steffens and I went down the east gate road and we stopped and I got out of the car. It did seem like the closer we got the bigger the [EM] effect was.”

“The gate was not manned. Steffen and I were on patrol and spotted the lights and reported them. Bentwaters tower did not report seeing the lights. LT Buran sent us off base Heathrow tower and the eastern radar was called by CSC and reported they spotted a object on radar over Woodbridge and then lost it on radar that is why we went into the forest based off of that and what we saw looking for a downed aircraft.”

“One of the reason we first went out was there might have been a crash. Penniston told us that but when we got are radio transmission they stated they had lost contact over the Bentwaters area. That’s why they let us go into the woods. The strange lights and then radar contact and then losing contact on radar. We would never had gone out there had that not been the case. And the radar people never said anything crashed just that they lost contact. CSC was the ones who stated that something might have crashed.”

“There was some kind of Radar contact the first night, See if you can run down Skip Buran and he can say from where. That is part of the reason they let us go out there. Penniston stated that as we were driving out towards the Forrest and they also said it over the Radio as we started to walk into the forest”

“They did pick something up on radar the first night we went into the woods! CSC called eastern radar through are tower and they confirmed something was seen on radar and disappeared over Woodbridge! LT Buran has verified this because he was the one who made the call!”

“About the radar contact from what I was told it appeared and disappeared it was not being tracked for a extended period of time! The radar that picked it up was eastern radar!”

“The radar contact happened on the first night not the 3rd night! Eastern radar reported to us something was seen on radar over the Woodbridge base then disappeared!!”

“Before we went off base we were cleared through are Commander and the Command post to do so. The Command post would have notified Williams not Conrad! Lt Buren and CSC contacted eastern radar and verified something was on Radar and then cleared us to go off base. I learned all of this when I spoke to him and one of the people who was working inside CSC. Maj Zickler was kept in the loop the whole time we were off base and so was the command post!”

“If you look closely at our night a decision was made that we had a possible down aircraft after what was reported and after contacting Eastern Radar. 3 of us were allowed to go off base unarmed and investigate what happened!”

“The interesting thing is I have learned from the guy in CSC and a couple of other people who were working that night the for a brief period the weapons storage area went on alert!”

“The first night I have been told by one of the controllers at CSC a helping hand was called at one point on Woodbridge then called off!”

“As far as the first night no fire or anybody else was called out because we did not find a crash site. Remember it was off base and we needed to see what it was before we sent out everybody”

Investigation in the woods

“The first night there were no road blocks no 67th just us.”

“We went in Penniston pickup truck and drove as far as we could until we had to go on foot...”

“There was some kind of energy source in the forest. There was some kind of object flying around in the sky and it was beaming down some kind of energy to the ground. That is a fact the rest is up to trying to figure out what it was and why it was there.”

“what we saw lasted much longer than 3-4 sec it was out there in the woods for more than 30 min. and it was going up in down in the trees!”

“And after we came up on what we encountered there really was no checklist to follow!”

“The 3 of us were staged Jim in front to my left I was in the Middle and Cab as behind me to my right. That is the way we were going through the forest. It did seem to slow down and it was only for a couple of min. before it went into the trees and disappeared.”

“I understand the part of things slowing down when you are frighten I had that happen to me when I almost got run over by a car but whatever we got close to did this. It happened to me on both nights.”

“Penniston from the beginning stated he felt it was a craft I was farther away from it and did not feel it was a craft for sure. The lights around it were very bright and if you look at my statement I drew what the lights looked like. I cannot speak for why Jim saw what he saw.”

“I never saw Jim examining the craft so I have no Idea how close I was. We split up briefly after whatever it was departed! Again I would have no Idea how long it took for Jim to examine the craft.”

“Jim was the closest to whatever it was! Jim was in charge! Jim has always said from the beginning it was Mechanical in nature! His statement he wrote shows a drawing on it. I believe the notebook and other drawings came later. As far as him touching something he was the closest but I did not see him touch anything. We did split up for a brief period of time but not for 45 min. I do not believe he had a different encounter than the one the 3 of us did!”

“It did not just stay on the ground. If we would have come up on something we would have reported it and secured it. What we came upon departed the area at a high rate of speed.”

“There is nothing we have that caused what we saw take off.”

“Whatever we encountered was able to lift off and fly away on its own power at a high rate of speed!”

“All 3 of us have said it was gone in a blink of a eye! Whatever it was lifted up and went back with and was gone that fast with no noise.”

“Jim and I were standing right next to each other and what we remember happening is totally different!
He only remembers 2 of us being there but there were 3! Also there seems to be some missing time where they lost radio contact with us for up to 45 min!”

“There were certain things that happened that could have something to do with some kind of unexplainable vortex. “

“As far as the time part goes again could some kind of vortex opened up. Man made or something else?”

“Remember what Williams said they cut through time! I understand it is a tough subject to address but it is what it is. “

“Time was involved and how or what caused it? Penniston did not have time to do what he said he did unless all of us were in some kind of different dimension. 2 of the 3 felt it was there and gone only Jim said it took 45 min.”

“And I never jumped on the craft and went for a ride with Penniston or drew my weapon on it ......”

“I remember when we came upon it Jim yelling out fire on it! No it was not in my statement I didn't put everything that happened in it! I do not remember being armed Jim and Ed say I was! After that I remember it moving away in a blink of a eye and was gone! If something did happen to us that might be the time that it did! Does that mean there were 2 landing sites no but if we were moved I guess it could mean that!”

“There were only 3 of us who went out in the forest and no one stayed behind.”

“I was cold and wet but I was driven by finding out what it was we had just encountered. And I will add something else you need to figure out what caused the energy spikes that we encountered. Something had to cause the whole forest to light up the way it did.”.

“Jim also said right away as we were walking back that he felt it was some kind of object or craft he was about 5-10 feet closer than I was. Plus he did draw a craft on his statement.”

“in Buren statement and from the time we were out there Jim has said when he called it in and to me it was mechanical in nature. As far as the notebook Buren told him to write it all down after we met with him in the Am. He probably put the date he was writing it all down! I don't understand why the time was written down wrong!!!
Later can be after the incident happened! Even if he was riding the bus back and working on the notebook it was after the incident happened!”

Reporting back and the landing site

“This is what happened. Penniston and I were told to go to the shift commanders office and after we were finished we went out to the site. There were already people at the area where we were the night before. I don’t remember who they were for sure but they were dayshift personal and I don’t know how they found the area. We looked around at the damage done to the trees and area that had the marks. Again I will not be able to tell you who found the area first or much about what was found I just took a quick look the people who were out there were involved with the British police and the area in question. If I remember right 2 of the names were Capt Vereno and Msgt Guylouis and I also believe the ops Commander Maj Druery showed up...”

“If I remember right they were in the trees i.e. there were trees but there was a small area within the trees that they found the marks and damage to the trees.”

“I did not look that close at the marks or was I involved in the plaster taking. And it looked like the damage was more from something going up not down....”

“All 3 of us were told to turn in statements to Halt when we came back to work. I did hand write mine Penniston typed his and they helped Cabansag type his. We did not put everything in it because we were told it was for Halt not for a police or official report. Also Halt told me only to talk about the first night not the second because he was there.”

“Jim has now gone on the record not only saying which he has said before that the statement released was not his but that one that he produced was signed and used by Halt to produce his memo and is classified! It would explain the reason why Halt used the date of the 27th in the memo if his statement was dated the 27th plus his notebook also had the same date the 27th!”

“Jim and Adrian both said they were brought in! I was not brought in! Halt has said I was!”

“None of that happened to me. Penniston Bustinza and Warren all stated one or all of what you asked [interrogation, truth serum, ..] happen to them. One of the more interesting things that came out of Jim's hypnosis was the fact he stated there was a DS-8 agent in the room when he was brought in and injected and he did not know what DS-8 was or remember them being in the room. Halt in the SCI-FI interview stated that people were brought in and injected.”

The different memories of Jim and John

“We never did talk about it. Jim never brought it up after it happened and as a young airmen I really did not know what to say. UFO back then were something you did not talk about. I did ask Jim in later years why he did not talk about it and his answer was it was a ongoing investigation because he kept getting called into OSI about it. He also stated he thought I was being called in and he never would talk about things that were in a ongoing investigation....”

“Jim Penniston has also had trouble with his memory so it’s very possible something was done to us”

“If you look at Halts Warrens and even Jims statements through the years they did not get the dates right so they very well could have been messed with. Even the statements were blown off by Penniston saying that was not his statement. Jim P just told me a few weeks back he knows I was there but he can t even remember that I was or what i was doing.”

“Yes Jim story has changed and I have been one of the people who keeps hammering that fact. What I have been told is that after hypnosis that is when he changed his story.”

“Cabansag was with us when we first came upon the lights and it only lasted a couple of min not over 45 like Penniston has stated. Jim went under hypnosis and that has changed his story allot.”

“Jim written statement does not say that. We came upon whatever it was and only were close to it briefly. Jim did say he felt it was some kind of object. His statement also stated how close we got to it. His story has changed and I am not sure why. He has told me since he went under Hypnosis his memory of the event has changed. Whatever we came upon departed as we got close to it “

“Penniston got the closest to it and said it was a object. The only thing I don't agree with is his statement about how long we were close to it.”

“Sorry I never said it was a object. Just bright lights. In my statement I tried to show what the lights looked like. Penniston was the one who said it was solid and warm to the touch.”

“On the craft part Jim called it a craft and as far as 80 people go not sure if he meant over 1 day or the whole period. allot of people would have seen lights which you could call a craft.”

“I believe Jim stated this at the national press club last November. I'm not sure how he came up with that number and I have been unable to get a answer from him on that. I do know that over the 3 nights allot of people would have heard the incident over the radio.”

Health problems and indications of radiation

“Jim and I both had problems after. I had my mouth (gums turn white) developed vision and heart problems. When I came in no heart murmur after the incident a heart murmur and vision problems white and black spots in my eyes. When they sent me to Wolford Hall to see a specialist the first thing he asked me was I ever exposed to radiation....”

“not only was the film that was developed at the Base Photo lab Military which the film came from the military white but also pictures that were taken and developed by somebody else who developed them himself and all of the photos that were taken of that area came back white like maybe was caused by high radiation.”

“I and others started having health problems right after the incident. Col Halt has offered to write a letter to the VA on the radiation and I have been told there are other documents that were released by the British MOD on the radiation. That was the only time I have ever been around anything that could have exposed me to radiation like that.”

“Jim and I both have had problems that came from being exposed to radiation!”

“As far as I go there are several of us who have had health problems over the years some who are now getting worse. I for one will need a heart valve replacement soon! I'm also having vision problems which are getting worse! This all started right after the incident within days”.

“All I can say is if I come up with enough facts I can force a show down in court. It looks like several of US have medical conditions from this and if nothing else we should be treated and taken care of. I think this needs more follow up and I will keep pushing on!!”
