My name is Dave and my wife Sarah was stationed at Bentwaters when she was 19 as her first duty station in the Air Force in 1982. She was a cop on base and married another cop soon after. In 1998 she was up for a major Air Force award and part of that award was a project she did researching the Rendelsham Forest incident. As part of this process she had a team of several people working with her on the project and she did a half dozen successful FOIA requests in the process. She hasn't talked about this much since.

I tried to tell her facts from information I have learned over the past couple days from this forum and the associated website and she claims that she "knows all the details" about it and isn't that interested anymore. I ordered a copy of Warren's book for her from Amazon. I also mentioned the controversy about nuclear weapons and she laughed telling me "of course" they had nuclear weapons there. She guarded them and has papers in our basement where awards were given for excellence in their care.

She also mentioned that one FOIA request she may still have in our basement in a box with her report includes information where one of the witnesses was fired upon by the object with some sort of energy weapon and had high radiation levels afterward. I will try and get the report scanned and available to people on this forum, IF we can find it. We spoke with a doctor at Andrews AFB who is a Col and he had examined this witness right afterward confirming my wife's story.

(I was with her in the exam room... what a weird conversation that was.)

We are getting ready to go on a week long trip and I'm finishing up packing and printing directions now. When we get back, I'm going to try and convince her to dig out the papers from the basement and post them on this Forum to see if she can add any facts that she alone might know. These FOIA requests were done in 1998.

She also knows many of the cops on base from 1982 on and probably can act as a a corroborating witness to names, procedures, etc at Bentwaters. She is retired from the AF now after putting in 20 years.

Take care, and I hope she can add information to the forum that may be of interest.

Sincerely,

Dave H.
