But if it is along the lines of something to do with Aliens, why believe in a purely fanciful explanation rather than a sound (well, with a few bullet holes) down to earth, logical explanation ?

I don't have a theory on or know what it is/was. I wasn't there that night, I was 10 miles away and just a kid. Over the years I have met people (US Military and more recently after organising this event - British civilians)who are eye-witnesses to one degree or another and heard their stories, it would be almost impossible to get all these people most of whom do not know each other to collaborate on a bunch of lies for no reason. If eye-witnesses don't know what it was how the hell would I know?. In a court of law, evidence from eye-witnesses would be crucial in deciding a verdict without absolute proof such as a video recording. Surely anyone with a reasonably level headed mind would look at this and think..........hmm who would I tend to take seriously?, 17 military witnessess (so far) who were actually there together with several British civilians who reported unusual lights in the sky at various locations around the Woodbridge area, or someone (or more) who was not there in that location at that time but think they have the explanation.

Indeed, but in court there are standards of evidence, and witnesses are on oath. We do not have that here, but we do have plenty of rumours, hearsay, self-serving afterthoughts and blatant inventions.

God damn it, Gump! You're a god damn genius! This is the most outstanding answer I have ever heard. You must have a goddamn I.Q. of 160. You are goddamn gifted, Private Gump. Listen up, people...

If the military are trying to cover something up, then naturally it follows that military personnel are under orders to tow the line.
But it ain't quite that simple, because if every member of the military says the same thing, then people automatically shout 'cover up' - that is why the military have made individuals create their own version of events to make this more realistic and you can be sure as hell the military have a lot of experience with these type of events and how to stage manage them. So we have the 'infighting' (planned) plus the possible bonus of US personnel who are NOT IN ON THIS having their own arguments with the military which all helps to make this (The so-called Alien landing) sound all very plausible.

I may be wrong, but all the claims of Aliens seem to originate from US personnel, whilst British civilian witnesses seem only to talk of road blocks and coloured lights, plus of course the most reliable British witness claiming to have seen the helicopter carrying a triangular/cone shaped object which hit the landing lights.

Where there are claims of lights being seen at different locations on the following days are merely the military playing tricks on their own personnel or more likely the public so as to add to and create confusion and take the heat away from the crash site.

Hopefully, access to this program still exists as I've been occupied with other matters over the past several months... I'll check a bit later as it's already 0530 here in the US.
