I've got my ticket (and my cold weather gear on standby), so I'll see you all there. :)

Cheers

It turns out that I won't be able to make the conference. For this reason, I encourage everyone there to take plenty of pictures, notes and recordings!

The event will also be fimed by Exopolitik.org.

German exopolitics initiative with currently 1.200 members in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We focus on professional coverage of important events and on making available important first hand witness testimony on the internet. We have also been using our network of journalists and former TV contacts to bring the news to the German mainstream media.

They are prepared to stream this event worldwide on the internet. I don't think the Woodbridge Community Hall has wi-fi. If there is anyone out there thats knows about setting up a wi-fi connection to make this possible please let me know.

Well I hope these TV companies are making a nice donation to your charity for being allowed to film the event.

Does Woodbridge have a BTopenzone or similar? I remember trying to get online during the summer and coverage was a bit sketchy in the area.

If your like me and you love gadgets; then you should get your hands on the two pieces of equipment listed below. A long range wi-fi adapter is perfect for what you need. The cable listed is just an optional extra, for greater reach between router and antenna. You will have a reliable wi-fi signal from a few miles away from the local hot-spot. Perfect for conferencing needs, and the equipment itself is really small. You could put the antenna on a window ledge or somewhere more suitable. The antenna has a magnetic mount on the bottom and can be placed on your vehicle too, if needed. So you could have internet on your laptop anywhere you roam. Buildings, etc have an effect on your signal and you need as clear a line of sight as possible, but that router is powerful and with the help of the additional antenna, should pick up a signal from a few miles away. All the software you need comes with the router, and upon inputting whatever address your currently at, the software will give you a list of the nearest available hotspots in the area. Youll then be able to pick and choose whichever hotspot you wish to connect too!
There is also free software available on the internet that can do the same thing, such as; "we-fi"

EnGenius EUB9603H-600mW- This is a long range wi-fi adapter and has gotten great reviews. You should get one in the u.k for between 30 and 50 pounds

7dBI MAG MOUNT ANTENNA-This should increase your range if using your adapter indoors. Place it on a window ledge or on the roof of a vehicle, the antenna has a magnetic base. It comes with a cable that has a five foot reach. I think its possible to get cables with a longer reach but you need to make sure you get the correct compatible cable, such as the one listed below. These are cheap too.

TRENDnet Low Loss Reverse SMA Female.- You may need additional reach, in order to place your antenna in a spot that gives you the best signal. This is the correct kind of cable as far as i can tell, but only has a 2 meter reach, which is a only one half meter longer than the cable that comes with the antenna, so you might be able to get a longer version, if you think you need one, and provided they are available.
At no time did I observe anything from the time I arrived at RAF Woodbridge.

Probably that and an iPhone would do it, as long as there is reception at the hall, which I'm sure there would be. Coverage at the forest is very sketchy.

DVD or Audio, Anyone???

Postby Biffer » Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:22 pm

Hi Folks!

Can some one please, please, PLEASE, make a DVD or at least a good audio tape of this event? I really would have liked to be there, but could not, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If an 'official' recording was made, this could generate additional income for the charity as well.

Please give this some serious thought. Did I say, "please"? OK, but it's worth repeating ... please.

Well, enjoy yourselves - and stay warm!

Got to say, we would love to have attended but family commitments mean we cannot. A recording made available of the meeting would be appreciated. Surely this could be done simply and posted on this site.
