Hi
This is my first real post here, hopefully not my last. I'm producing a documentary on the Rendlesham Story - "Codename Rendlesham" and have been following the discussions here recently with a lot of interest. I would like to explore one avenue in the documentary that I think needs to be looked at more. I stress that this is only one idea, but one that I think is important and that is the influence that the movies could have had on this.
The recent space shuttle discussions here bare a resemblance to the film "Hangar 18" - which was showing in an Ipswich Cinema in December1980 along with "Close Encounters Special Edition". Just before that Christmas.
Hangar 18, more info on it's IMDB page [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080836/]
Also on wiki [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangar_18_%28film%29]
As you can see, the subject of both films share a great deal with Rendlesham - Hangar 18 in particular. This does beg the question, why has this this element not been talked about more? ( My apologies if I have missed something here- I've done some searching )
For the sceptics, this would be great ammo for a hoax or misidentification, so I'm surprised that this has not been used as part of these theories.
On the other hand it could lend weight to the idea that this was the ideal time to test some kind of black program - make the witnesses believe they were seeing something literally out of this world.
If this was a testing program to see just how "under the radar" they could keep both the stealth program and all future black projects, then it's probably worked beyond all expectations.
Look forward to some replies
