What did really happen at Rendlesham?

Something happened, rather than relying on key witness testimony which may be contaminated and deliberately seeded with disinformation, how about forum members do some " Blue Sky " thinking--- a bit like the police when they go back to a cold case. Something caused the authorities to cover up , and I would suggest people look at what happened rather than who said what. Georgini Bruni tried to do this to some extent in her book.
For example was the Rendlesham incident a Drug Smuggling operation? Bent ARRS members met a boat offshore with the Apollo capsule, filled it with Charlie, brought it back to Rendlesham, where a bit high, lost the capsule in the woods with the drugs and bent special forces recovered it the next day? With the US forces in Vietnam large scale drug smuggling went on, funded by organised crime. Witnesses from hospital saying they saw helicopters moving at night with underslung loads, flare used to light up the forest at night might easily coincide with Halt's description of looking through the starscope and molten metal dripping off the light. How about other witnesses stating driving past the lightalls aimed so you could not see what was happening? What better time to bring a load of drugs in than over xmas when the base is quiet. Now this would embarrass both goverments and they would want to want to keep things quiet.
