I thought listing the key elements might be useful for reference. If I've missed anything, I apologise. They are not in any particular order, just a list.

1. Warren assigned to an guard post manned only during alerts
2. Lights observed over the forest by Bentwaters WSA tower
3. Senior officer (Lt Col Halt) leads search in forest on second night
4. SP assigned to search, some airmen already in forest when SP arrive
5. No night flying scheduled, base still at reduced readiness, even apparently, during an alert
6. Nobody at either of the bases, other WSA tower and Woodbridge tower and SP assigned to the search in the forest, sees anything. No aircraft, no helicopters, no odd noises, nothing.
7. No civilians other than one man at Subourne, report anything unusual
8. Lightalls requested on second night and taken to forest, apparent problem with fuel levels and starting (generator?).
9. Damage to landing lights
10. Russian armour moving up to Polish border
11. A-10s moved to forward bases in Germany but not flying on nights in question
12. Hollesley Bay Youth Detention Centre [allegedly] on alert
13. Radar tapes taken from RAF Watton
14. 'Humming' sound reported by one witness in forest
15. Feelings of disorientation reported by other witnesses in forest
16. Two witnesses in forest sketch strange craft; one apparently covered in cermic tiles, the other covered in a ceramic like material
17. Marks found in forest floor; either 11ft apart or 9ft apart, either 7,8,9 or 10 ins in dia in triangle formation.
18. Tree branches damaged as if something has fallen through
19. Very slight increase in radiation readings in area of marks on forest floor
20. Halt sends memo to RAF/CC
21. Cosmos on re-entry
22. Meteor shower evident
23. Woodbridge flight tower reported seeing lights so must have been manned. This suggests aircraft were expected - or why would the tower be manned.
You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time (Winston Churchill)...causa latet, vis est notissima
