I believe that the security services of both the United States and the United Kingdom have attempted - both then and now - to subvert the significance of what occurred at RAF Bentwaters by the use of well-practiced methods of disinformation.

Well it will be interesting to see if Halt has any knew documents to release! One other note some how the object that Halt said was beaming down lights into the WSA and I know he said he heard it on the radio and was told by others is now a dis shaped object!

Im not one to fly the flag for the colonel, however i support him, ! i know all to well that the press fills in the blanks so i really dont think halt said that, further the press will fill the press confrence! after it watch how little coverage you will see watch how the story is passed to the weatherman for snide comentary, see how any print storys wont resemble what the wittinesses really said! than youll see a cover up of these matters really exists ! Bet ya !

I fear you are right, Larry. However events like this should be welcomed as it is a further sign that increasingly such people are at least now prepared to come forward with impunity whereas historically that would not be the case.

The press release was issued by Hastings and Salas according to Reuters and not by a press agency. The disc shaped quote must have originated from them or Halt..

I was just watching this old interview with Larry Warren when I came across this:

I would assume that Larry was told this by Halt and I'm curious to know if he will mention that specific point tomorrow in the Press Conference. I guess that would be a real break-through!

Well its quite intersesting some of the National Media are getting involved and we might get som of the truth at last--- if anyone really knows what it is.
I think its a credit to all out regular forum members that we must have added some pressure to the debate to get to this point.
It seems to be boiling down to two choices
1) The RFI was a genuine ET event
2) A cover for a black program-- a web of disinformation to cover what ever they want

JUst got back from holiday abroad , and whilst away read "The Mirage Men"-- a new book about UFO coverups/ disinformation etc. The author visted a number US AFOSI ( Air force office special investigation) who said ET was real and we had contact and UFOs etc--- but he concludes this could be part of a disinformation campaign but left the door open that this might me true.
This new statement from Halt seems to be going in the direction its true.
I suspect if it was a black project disinformation programme, after this time they would let it die quietly--- Most of the milatry technology we current see nothing look s like ET technology--- F22 , Global Hawk etc, so it would be a surprise if they are covering these projects. If Aurora or TR3B exist--- they will not be seen regularly--- they are too fast, fly way to high.

I watched Halt on the CNN live feed. I noted he said the beams that came down were 1 foot wide. Did he not say in the past they were pencil thin or am I confusing that with something else ?

In a recent interview with Halt (I forget which one, he does so many), I clearly remember Halt stating that the beam was 15 inches in diameter, and the interviewer then related back the story in an off-hand sort of way that the beams were pencil-thin. Halt seems to be consistant. The tendency of the listener is to mishear or relate what we would normally think the width of these beams to be. Perhaps because he describes it like a "laser beam" - not radiating out.

I remember because I pictured the width as he said it, and was taken aback somewhat as it seems to be at odds with what one would normally associate a "laser beam".

Was the "pencil thin" description based on viewing the light shining down in the direction of the WSA and not the one coming down at his feet?

I suppose there was more than just one beam of light. Probably they had different widths and intensities.

anyway, I watched CNN Europe but they did not mention the conference. What was it like ? What were the highlights ? I know it will be posted later, somewhere but I'm damn curious !!

dan92, he was referring to the episode in which the beam fell at his feet. So I guess it's possible he saw more distant ones of similar dimension and described them as "pencil-thin" from his relative standpoint - but this is conjecture.
