Coming to a screen near you - Spring 2011

Postby IanR » Fri Dec 17, 2010 10:38 pm

Once the fervour of the Rendlesham Revivalist meeting has worn off, look out for a movie called Gawd Bless America. In it, Blake Freeman takes a 68 year old man called Leroy across the country debunking aliens, psychics and paranormal. According to the producers it's a comedy and touches on how many people, not just this old man, are financially bankrupt because of these absurd beliefs. They say: "We started in Roswell at the alien convention and met some of the most interesting people and heard all of their crazy stories!"

The moral is: don't end up being taken advantage of, like Leroy was.

As it transpired, that December 28 Jim ‘n’ John show is a prime example of what the film is trying to warn against. Rather good timing, I thought.

I dont have any problem with IanR's posting-- sounds like a good movie to me. There are plenty of people taking advantage of the UFO scene, spinning it this way and that way, and giving people genuinely interested a load of s@&*t.
Its not nice to be like that is it?

I think I'll add my voice to these comments so I watched that video clip and it says it all - the film is about some old boy who is taken advantage of by cranks in the true sense of the word, and some chap with his feet firmly on the ground tries to make him see sense.

What's the problem Larry and why bring dying children in to support your weak stance ?
To me, that is really aiming low, to borrow your quaint American terminology.

Oh, and language Larry, language.
