Having taken a look at the primary document within the newly released files it appears that the wrong questions are being asked. Only CNN / Chuck DeCaro seems to have asked the right questions and as yet I've not come across the reply to those.
Also, much of it is in the words used. When MoD says 'it was of no defence significance' then what they really mean is 'it was of no defence signifcance because we know what it was' simply because if they did not know what it was they could not state it was of no defence significance. Also, asking for information about a UFO that landed in Suffolk will get nowhere if no UFO landed in Suffolk. From looking at the volume of letters received by MoD and others they all seem to be requesting, or even demanding, information about a UFO and because there was no UFO, the standard reply is sent. It's all in the words.
