The Suffolk Police did attend when they were informed of lights seen in the forest by USAF security, I think 2 or 3 turned up and inspected and measured the indentation marks in on the forest floor.
The British Police were called again by USAF security for the same reasons but declined to attend saying there was nothing of importance worth investigating, or words to that effect. Read the Suffolk Police files. They have never denied their attendance. However, if they did turn up in large numbers to man road blocks and are denying it then you must look at their duty roster for the night in question. Only a handfull of Policemen were on duty for Christmas and their patrol 'patch' would be huge. Off duty coppers would have to be called in to carry out a road block and keep the rest of the county patrolled as well. Check the duty rosters and files. Having worked for the Police for 35 years, I think I know a little of how things work.
I'm not saying a road block was not carried out by British Police, may be it was by the USAF security and not the British Police but its always been a rather fanciful idea with no hard evidence to back the claim. Get us the evidence that would stand up in court.

Well, the site that Halt examined and which the British police were taken to see was near the eastern edge of the forest

Jim P has taken TV crews to an "alternative" landing site on the western side of the forest, i.e. the side nearest East Gate, but he admitted in December that he had made this up. Instead they came up with a new "alternative alternative" landing site somewhere out in the farmer's field, which is what you have seen on the Earthfiles site, but no one seems to take this latest change of story any more seriously than the binary code stuff.
