Recent re run of Britains Roswell doc.

Hi All

I saw yet again the Doc on the History channel 'Britains Roswell'. There was a point raised in the program by Lt Col Halt [Ret] how frustraited he was with the MOD for their non response to his memo. [Knowing the British authorities as i do] i'm not surprised considering some of the types that work there.

Its also interesting that Halt took nearly 14 days before submitting the memo and i also think it strange that no mention was made of any memo sent to USAF HQ Europe which i would have thought was a standard procedure.

Phone calls between base commanders at Bentwaters, Woodbridge and USAF Europe is another matter and i suspect that the phone lines were pretty hot for a while on this subject. I would love to know what was said.

Good Point, Do you think either Halt genuinely didnt know what the hell had happened out there and took the option of delaying reporting on it until he might have some chance of finding out, or was the whole memo , timings etc just some part of a cover up, given that as far as I am aware we have nothing that actually confirms the memo was typed when it was supposed to be dated, ie what guaruntees have we that the memo was actually "typed" years later? It would be lovely if the typist who did the memo could come forward and say yes I remember typing this just after the flap, whoever typed it must remember it------ its not your average memo!

From what i understand, Halt wrote the memo [i could be wrong] and i also believe that it was compiled after he consulted Sqd Ldr Moreland who i think knows one hell of a lot more about this incident than we are led to believe. Its a shame that no body has tried to contact Moreland to see if he would be willing to do an interview. Perhaps admin could do some digging on this.

We all know that the Halt memo was very light on details which i think was Moreland's idea.
It was sanitised for MOD consumption.
