Regarding the missiles and beams disabling them and all that.
To be honest I never heard of any beams doing anything to the missiles until years after. I am not even sure where I heard it first but I never heard a thing about it when I was on base. I left in April of 1981 and until then I had not heard a thing about such an event.
A few more pics, If I may

This is me back in the day. About 1984 or so I think. I am on the right with my face cammoed out Ken is on the left. He died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

In this pic I am out of the turn and starting to stand the bike more upright for the short straightaway before the next turn. I just came through the hairpin turn behind me doing about 70 MPH. I got to tell you hanging off a superbike and having it whip you around the corner like that is a thrill like no other.

In this pic I am doing about 292 KM/H that's about 183 MPH at the Shanghai F1 track and been through corners doing nearly 140 MPH.... such a thrill.

A thumbs up doing 100 MPH through a right hand turn just before a quick left hand turn in the "S' turns ( I probably should not be letting go of the handle bars at this particular spot in the track. he he he :-0)

Same corner but at speed, leaned over and all business in this pic doing about 120-125 mph through the turn. If you compare it with the above pic you can see that 20 MPH faster and I have to lean the bike over more to the tires edge to make the turn. Also faster makes the bikes rear end slide out in a controlled slide to negotiate the corner at that speed. Driving fast is very different than driving normal street speeds. Weird shit happens to a bike when you go fast. It slides and twitches all over the place when your on the edge of your tire like that as well. Scares the crap out of me sometimes when I almost crash and then save it. That happens about once a lap in a race if I am pushing it hard.

This is me and one of my creations. I restore these 1960 era Chinese military side cars over here.
