Nick Pope's article first published in the FOCUS journal and now here is very well written. It is also very interesting but more interresting because the MOD don't actually tell you much as regards the incident.
Their bottom line is, "It had no defence significance". Standard spin.
The biggest conspiricy theory surrounding the Rendlesham Forest incident has always been, "The various authorities within the US and UK have carried out a huge combined cover up". This seemed to go to extreme measures such as blind ally paper trails and charactor assassinations of some witnesses. I would have thought this would be a logistic nightmare to carry out in two nations let alone one.
It seemed that all avenues were covered. Well, here is my take on this taking that they did.
IF it was a UFO, a man made accident or a man made experiment. Which of these do you suppose warrants the cover up?
My guess is the latter two because IT WAS OF DEFENCE significance and no way are we going to let the enemy know that some thing went wrong or an experiment was conducted in Rendlesham forest. Dissinformation is the usual way. Egg on face springs to mind.
