US withdraws its nuclear weapons from the UK

Don't know why I missed this, but....

"The removal follows years of campaigning by CND and the local Lakenheath Action Group against the deployment of 'freefall' nuclear bombs at the base."

I somehow doubt that campaigning by 'CND' or any other Action Group has ever had any influence over the siting or withdrawl of any weapon from any base.

At least they will now have some more time to tie dye some skirts, buy some new animal product free sandals and knit a new batch of muesli....
