Hi Gordy,
The event is supposed to be about the local people either on base and not heard before, or accounts from other military stations and local witnesses. The whole idea of this was surely to give these people an oportunity to give their accounts, but without refocusing on the 30th guest list or already well-publicised locals such as Brenda and Dot who have already relayed their accounts many times, unless of course, they have brand new witnesses and material not already discussed?
That hall costs peanuts to hire, why make the event make or break on the strength of a guest list that will break the bank? This is with all due and high respect to speakes from last year, but if we have too many of them, the local people that want to come forward again will not get any time to be heard properly. That's why I limited myself speaking (as BUFORA chairman) to only ten-fifiteen minutes and not submitting any expenses. I will buy a ticket in any case, as in principle it goes to a very good cause.
Please do not pull the plug on this one just based on US airfares and hotels, it was right for the 30th and the whole way that was organised and the film crews etc.etc., surely this event was supposed to be a completely different set up all together?
I must make this clear that I am in total appreciation of all the time and effort you put into the last conference and all the time already put towards this one and I am very aware of the hundered of hours that go into staging any UFO event or conference. One minute conference time often is made with 1000 minutes organisation time to make it happen!
Kind Regards
