Hello - I was at Bentwaters when Rendlesham occurred.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge from Jun 79 to Jun 81, when the Rendlesham incident occurred. I was in the 81st Security Police Sq, Operations Office at the time. I knew all of the players, including Penniston, Burroughs, Warren, Col Halt, Lt Englund. etc.

I have communicated over the years with Nick Pope, former MOD, who has investigated the incident. The last time was two years ago, when Burroughs made a new claim that Pope asked about. I was able to relay information from the claim that was useful for detemining some credibility to the claim.

Every few years, the story takes on a life again. It is fascinating to me to read the new takes, etc., especially since I have played a peripheral role.

I will be posting observations, facts, rebuttals and other information about what happened at RAF Bentwaters as time permits from my currently very busy schedule. I think that I can shed much needed light on the participants in the event, the facts of the case, and how the base and the Security Police Squardon operated. All are relevant to understanding what happened and coming to a conclusion as to whether Rendlesham was an actual event or a hoax.

(Some people have since come forward with statements that were not participants in the event and I can offer details that disprove their participation.)

Feel free to ask me any questions that you can think of. I will be more than happy to answer them to the best of my recollections. (Remember, this happened 27 years ago and memories age.) I will be truthful about all I can remember, and if I can't remember or do not know, I will say so.
