Excitement grows (slightly) as the transmission date nears for the History Channel's new programme involving Rendlesham. Seems that it will go out next Wednesday in the US under the title Military and UFOs. It's part of a series called UFO Hunters.
The History Channel has sent me these links to trailers, but the clips are so short as to be next to useless.

I'm inclined to aggree with this viewers take on the documentery.
I have discarded all but the very first doc and interviews with the witnesses as over time subsequent interviews have become corrupted and distorted.
What i don't do is scour the internet for any threads that only support my views and ignore other views that don't support my stance. I look at all either for or against, weigh them up and decide for myself if they are worth chasing.
Ian, quite honestly, i suspect for you its infinitely more interesting watching Mars go round the Sun and if thats the case why bother with this forum.

A good question. The answer is that I am genuinely concerned that large numbers of people have been seriously misinformed about this case, and indeed about UFOs in general.
It's possible that I have overlooked something regarding this case and it has been entertaining to see the various brainstorming suggestions offered here, although I must admit that nothing I have seen has come close to sounding convincing.
If I have managed to correct a few misapprehensions then it will have been worth it, even if some people here have been difficult to convince.
As it happens I am now embarking on a new book (about real science) so it's a good time to withdraw from further involvement. If anyone has a specific question for me, please PM me.

Silvertop wrote:I'm just watching the new UFO hunters episode - in HD no less !! Halt's new revelations are that he received an email in November from one of the airmen (Halt said he wishes to remain anonymous for the time being). The airman was in the observation tower on the 3rd night and saw a red light beaming a laser down into the hot row.
ALso, Vince Thurkettle is on talking about how between Christmas and New Year 1980 two young (25/26years old) english men in dark suits (MIBS!!) drove up to his cottage one night and asked if he had seen the strange red lights in the forest or if he had been out in the forest. According to Thurkettle the same two men asked most of the locals living in or near the forest if they had seen anything. Strange that the British may have been invloved before the MOD received Halt's memo.
Anyways, I haven't finished watching it yet so will write more later.
Why havent the locals come forward, some would have done its human nature, especially with time..............

Nice to see for a change to see somebody like lighthouse man Keith Seaman being interviewed, even though it was cut a little to bias the shows line.
Obviously they have sent the non believers running, hence Ian Ridpaths exit from the forum
Seriously though, I'm surprised you have stuck with this for as long as you have. Good luck with the book.

Thanks for posting the links, Admin.
I suppose I should be flattered that History Channel should go to all this trouble to examine the lighthouse explanation, but so much of their "evidence" is bogus that one is forced to conclude they could come up with nothing genuine that was convincing.
They wheeled out poor old Keith Seaman (wonderful name for a lighthouse attendant - they don't call them 'keepers' any more). They claimed his testimony as new, but he's been saying the same for years and he's always been wrong. Someone should take him to the site and show him the lighthouse. He's obviously never been!
He did make the useful point that the light isn't as powerful now as it was. But it continues to flash away every night, a standing reproach to all those who continue to take this case seriously.

I fully understand why Ian sticks to his light house theory and i suspect that Ian's initial entry to the Rendlesham Forest incident was to debunk the idea that the alleged UFO was a space ship from another galaxy which is basically what all the first reports in the media said.
Ian quite rightly felt some interdiction was needed because of his star gazing back ground. Most astromoners i'v met are sceptics and i suspect Ian is no different.
Ian, most of us are not looking for a space ship from the universe, but a man made incident and this is where you still remain blinkered. Your light house theory is feeble and in no way proved, so do us all a favour and open your mind up and look at other possible senarios. You never know, you might come up with some thing worth looking at.
We have all looked out side the box, try it yourself.
If you can prove with no shadow of doubt that it was the light house, i'l buy you a pint.

I watched the five episodes. They covered two nights of UFO activity.
They did not show any picture of a “real craft” as promised.
In the first minutes of the first episode, it was mentioned that there
Were THREE nights of UFO activity . I infer from this, that another
episode will be shown of the third night of UFO activity with the promised
photo .

New witness
In the latest edition of Left at East Gate , L. Warren writes that he received a letter from Timothy Egercic, formerly of D Flight who wrote” the Weapon Storage Area tower operator that night was either Rick Bobo or Dennis Karnatz who saw lights dancing in the sky that night. Also, there have been guests up there watching the proceedings." Egercic wrote that the radio transmissions from witnesses were more than the three previous nights. Egercic repeated them over the air so the troops at Bentwaters could hear what was seen by the Woodbridge personnel.
This apparently happened the night Warren returned to duty. According to the Imagination Theorists, mass hysteria was endemic.

I spent over six months studying Egyptian Mythology. On the UFO Hunters episodes on Rendlesham, the red, sun-like object with a blinking eye, moving through the trees reminded me of Horus, one of the earliest Egyptian sun gods. Imagine a red, sun-like object moving about at night in darkness. Horus, was associated with an eye patch, that showed an eye
with a black pupil.
Were UFOs active 6000 years ago? Where are my Daniken books?

"It made me to smile to see the team with a green laser pointer and a miniature farm house, obviously trying to make the house glow as Halt said it did."
Before Halt and his team met Burroughs and Bustinza, Burroughs was standing near the light-alls when a blue light ball flew by him. The light-alls were off and had been malfunctioning. As the light flew by him, the light-alls went on. When the blue light flew away, the light-alls went out.
I suggest that the red, sun-like object had the same effect as the blue light. As it approached the house, the power in the house intensified making the interior of the house appear to glow.

Hi Silvertop,
"They did not show any picture of a “real craft” as promised."
Apparently you did not see the film promo of the episode featuring Heseltine. He's the one who mentioned it.

The fact is, Colonel Halt had not even written his memo to the British

Local journos who got it from the police, one would think.

PS: Journalists are responsible for many "MiB" reports. They would, by nature, always tells witnesses not to talk to anyone else so as not to lose their scoop...

Just splitting hairs re your last post, It mentions the Woodbridge Control tower and then later the observation tower.
The Woodbridge air traffic control tower was not manned over the nights in question, but the Observation tower over looking the WSA was manned 24/7. Only Bentwaters had a duty crew on watch in the air traffic control tower plus of course their own Obs tower.
