Hello. I have been intrigued by the incident since the late 80s and always found it far more compelling than roswell. My only knowledge of the incident came from the usual ufo and unexplained mystery type books and some of the tv documentaries. About 5 months ago i met larry in a small cafe in liverpool and we hit it off, we talked about politics, bike gangs the economy e.t.c, I had no idea who he was and u.f.os were not mentioned. For the next couple of months i would sometimes bump into larry and we would briefly chew the fat and then one day he told me he was off to the states for a short vacation. The day in question was one of those grim rainy north west english days when liverpool feels more like manchester, a real joy division of a day. It was then that i asked larry if he ever felt like moving back to the states and he told me he had a son here and that he had been in the military here. It was then that the thought entered my head that larry being the age he is would have been of sevice age in 1980. I then jokeingly asked if he was involved in the rendlesham incident. I will never forget the look he gave me, it was initially intense, defensive and a bit paranoid. He then asked me who told me and his look softened slightly as he probably thought it was more likely that someone he knows had told me. As i looked more dumbfounded than him he eventually accepted my explanation. Those of you who know larry will know how funny he can be and when i told him what i knew about the incident and how one of the airforce mens story is so far fetched that it has tainted the whole case (history channel) he proudly said "I,m that guy". I know now that larry is telling the truth and i would trust someone like larry who has taken some real knocks in life and has come out the wiser for it, than the halts of this world. Halt strikes me as being the kind of person who has followed the rules all his life and always conformed. Career officers like halt who served during the big budgets of the cold war have often been pampered by the military with free housing, school fee,s, and plenty of sucking up fom their subordinates. My uncle is a retired colonel and would fall to pieces if his wife stopped taking care of him. I think during the recent cbs radio show that larry showed far more maturity and wisdom than halt and i have never heard him once show anything but total respect for everyone involved. Anyway i apologise for the rant.
