Those lights in the sky? I saw them myself. Trust me, nothing eerie, they were just Disco lights. Nothing more, nothing less. They might have followed someone across the bridge, but rest assured they were seen by a number of psychiatric nurses.... our opinion?.....Disco lights.

My most confusing questions: ????
1. Penniston claims that the lights he originally saw were a few hundred yards within the trees, off the road? Then, Halt's site (which he showed Brenda Butler) was up near the field (about a mile away).?

2. Bruni claims that her site she was shown by Vince Thurkettle, was on the second path on the left of route 12 (now eight) at the end, just within the tree line. Brenda Butler reckons it's on route 12 (now eight), last path on the left. The first part is 'Blair witch' where apparently people have experienced 'lost time' and next to this is Bruni's site ('about 50 yards into the trees?) Nowhere near to where Bruni describes in her book?

3. Halt claimed 'It came from the coast.' Apparently it crashed into some runway lights? I might be wrong, but the coast is in the direction of the lighthouse? A few miles into the forest? Or, does this mean, it did come from the coast, travelled over the forest, crashed into some landing lights, then landed? But it wouldn't surely be where Halt claimed the landing site was, and showed to Brenda Butler???

Like i said, very confused.

On recent TV documentaries Penniston has identified a different site from everyone else as the landing site. What we might term the "traditional" landing site is the one near the eastern edge of the forest, where the supposed landing marks were. This is the site the local PCs were taken to on the morning following the original sighting and which Halt and his team investigated a night or so later. Penniston's site is, as you say, close to the road on the western side of the forest.

As well as now giving a different site, Penniston's notebook in which he supposedly made real-time notes of the encounter contains a different date and time from that given by everyone else. No wonder you are confused.

3. Halt claimed 'It came from the coast.'

What he actually said on his tape was: "2:44. We’re at the far side of the farmer’s...the second farmer’s field and made sighting again about 110 degrees. This looks like it’s clear off to the coast. It’s right on the horizon." Just where you would expect to find a lighthouse, of course.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ian, thankyou for your response and information. Do you know where Penniston's site is which he is now claiming? I would like to find it. He still confuse me though, and just wish i could meet him and question him. Halt's site which he investigated, is the one with the supposed 'landing marks' which we are lead to believe was the one Penniston et al witnessed on the first night, and from which Penniston took plaster cast moulds from? That one is up near the farmers field. Reading the witness statements, including his ie Penniston's and his maps/ drawings, to me would also indicate this being the area of the first night's events?
On one of the documentarys i recognise the area he is standing within (on the previously named route 10, and very much near Bruni's claimed landing site, (which would be practically behind him, give or take a few yards), and again up near the farmers field, stating words to the effect of 'Halt's site is approximately half a mile in that direction.' ?? To my understanding he seemed to be insinuating he was standing in the area of his alleged site at the time he made this statement? If this being so, then it is nowhere near the road, or a few hundred yards from it, within the forest? I hope this make sense?
