about a decade ago i had reason to be in the command centre on woodbridge base and it definitely had a lift in it.it was in the same room as where a big desk with microphones were, the main room i guess. there was no power on the base at this time but i gingerly put one foot inside the open lift doors onto the lift floor and it wobbled slightly,as lifts do . the lift size was the same as in hotels ,5ft x 5ft approx .
through the blast doors in the centre were dorm rooms and also a fully fitted out bar, with black vynil button padded seating . behind the bar was a plasterboard wall, full of pilots signatures from over the years. in the centre of this wall was a blank circular patch,i guess something had hung their of importance.somebody had had a go at leavering off this wall, unsuccessfully ,the edges were broken a bit, thats how i could see it was plasterboard .
