I have the same impression, Daniel.
Halt repeatedly stated he has arranged some ‘protection’ by hiding sensitive information about the RFI that will be released if something happens to him. He could be bluffing of course, but it probably means he is holding back part of the story.

Who knows? There are several witnesses who claim a lot more happened than just a beam coming down to the ground, including some comments from John on this forum:

But what I don’t understand: Why this secrecy? There are many more UFO cases and some of them with more compelling evidence than the RFI. The RFI is fascinating in its own right, but mainly because of its long and intriguing history of contradictory clues about what really happened.

It was Gary Heseltine who is apparently making a film and he has Halt as his main advisor. Its claimed this film will be a revealing and exclusive insite into the RFI. Whether its still being made or not, I have no idea, but I would be interested in seeing it if it ever gets released. Does any one have any up dates on this.

Just listened to the Earthfiles interview with Monroe Nevels again.

When Englund reported that ‘the UFO is back’, he and Monroe Nevels had already been doing a low-profile investigation in the forest. This investigation was ordered by Conrad who probably wanted to know if there was anything substantial behind all the stories.

On their way back they experienced static electricity and saw a red sun-like object. This probably made them report that ‘the UFO is back’. Halt then jumped in and started ‘Halt’s night’, recorded on Halt’s tape.

During Halt’s night Monroe tells he witnessed an orange/yellow object sitting in the farmer’s field that took off as soon as he and Halt jumped over the fence to approach it. This was right after they had been chasing the orange/red sun-like light through the forest. Monroe also tells that the object sitting in the field was very, very similar to the artist rendering based on John’s original drawing.



The take-off was incredibly fast. Right after the take-off they saw balls of light flying a few hundred meters above them.
This may be the reason why Halt and Bustinza told John that ‘something had landed’ when John joined the men. According to John, Halt pointed upwards to balls of light flying around right after that. So there’s a good match between Monroe’s story and John’s forum posts.

The landed object that took off at incredible speed seems to be somewhat watered down in Halt’s memo, where he describes it as an object that silently exploded. Maybe this was how Halt perceived it (it all seemed to go awfully fast), or maybe he deliberately watered it down a bit. Note that this take-off/silent explosion is not on the excerpts of Halt’s tape that are in the public domain.

but the events continue to be re written by reseachers, debunkers, media, its FAN base, and people that should know better ! i know what happened, most of you NEVER will, because you really DONT want to, right?
certain people were not with other people at certain points of the events and yet the truth suffers as your needs demand
an easy way out, THERE IS NOT. some of the people that where at the site now deny any involvement at all, and the day halt and some others stop fearing the loss of there government checks yes, you might get a peek at the big picture?
till then, you people (and not just on this site ) will keep on rewriting the rendlesham incidents , thus you will never know!

“Trust me, I was there and you were not” is the argument we get from ALL witnesses, Larry. Yet they all tell a different story, so it’s got to be a little bit better than that.

The only thing left for those who were not there is to look for consistencies and to throw out the inconsistencies – something the witnesses themselves should have done long ago.

(And yes, this is nothing more than a hobby for me. What on earth makes you think that anyone still has the illusion of finding out the truth?)

John, my post was not dirrected at yourself, it was aimed at the stamp collectors ! and Armoulds of the world. we ALL need to get togather in one room, and it will all come togather! just takes money and the will to do so, to date, this and other forums have done anything but helped those that were there in 1980 put the events and certain peoples roles in them togather , but isnt that just what the feds always wanted. cheers further, some coments and flipent observations
